A member asked:

Excruciating pain in ball of foot just as toes meet the foot pad. mainly in big toe and second toe. started at around 12pm out of nowhere and progressively getting worse. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

About forefoot pain: Forefoot pain is hard to assess without an exam. Some people find help with Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin (ibuprofen) for 3 days, no weight-bearing plus cold packs for 3 days, wearing a non-flexible shoe, avoiding sports for a few days, etc... One can see in-person one's primary care doctor, or an orthopedist or podiatrist for an evaluation. Sometimes an online video consultation is adequate.
