Ball of foot pain: Very common complaint in this area. Often this is a bursitis or capsulitis. Sometimes patients have a torn ligament in this area as well. Other causes of pain here are neuromas, which are nerve irritations/small swellings of nerves of the toe. If the symptoms persist you should be evaluated by your podiatrist. X-rays would be indicated during a thorough examination.
