A member asked:

Ive been diagnosed with gastro, and my meds arent working. everytime i go to the loo there is a lot of blood. should i go to the hospital ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually the ER: Usually, a patient having vomiting, diarrhea, or both, and has persistent blood in her poop, should get evaluated in the ER... and may end up admitted into the hospital for further testing and care. A gastroenterologist specialist often gets involved to help evaluate and treat persistent bloody poop. This scenario is not one of those self-care at home scenarios. Time to see the doctor, again.
