Can the first week of starting zoloft 50mg make me feel more sad and exhausted? when will this stop?

Yes: It isn't unusual to feel that way for the first week and usually by 2 weeks you'll feel better. If not the dose may have to be increased then. If you have continuing concerns, however, notify your prescribing physician or psychiatrist.
