A member asked:

I'm on 200mg zoloft (sertraline) for sad. i've been on it for 3+ months with no noticeable changes. what medication would be ideal to switch to?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Treatment options: The best treatment for sad is the combination of phototherapy and medication. Zoloft is on of the ssris which have been used. The others include Paxil and prozac. Effexor (venlafaxine) which is a snri has also been used. Wellbutrin xl may help prevent depressive episodes in people with a history of sad. Last but not least psychotherapy can be employed.
