A member asked:

I was recently seen at a urgent care clinic who diagnosed me with shingles. but i have no rash, no blisters, and no tests were done. i don't seem to be getting any better 2 or more days later. what should i do?

Shingles has a rash: It's hard to diagnose shingles without a rash. Sometimes a patient will come in with pain on one part of her skin or body and maybe some redness there. A doctor might call it early shingles. If no antiviral medication is given, yet no rash occurs, then it might be some other illness. The doctor who diagnosed this case can recheck, or one's primary care doctor can evaluate to see what happened.
