I was in hospital with c diff in april. my fiance has now tested positive for c diff on monday. should i retest incase i am still carrying the bacterium?

C diff: C diff is not usually treated in people who have no symptoms from carrying it. However, since your c diff followed antibiotic treatment and since you passed it on to your fiance, I recommend being tested and treated if positive. However, I would defer to the opinion of a specialist in infectious diseases.
