Many possibilities: A woman in her 50's with low hemoglobin needs to find out why (many possibilities). She could have always been that way (genetic), so looking at old results can help. She could have been iron-deficient due to not enough iron in her diet. She could be losing blood a little at a time, as in bowel cancer. She may be lacking nutrients needed for red blood cells.
