A member asked:

Which of these illnesses is the most and least contagious - scabies, c diff, tb, mrsa?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hmmm....: Tuberculosis from a coughing patient is the most contagious of the bunch. TB germs can hang in the air for a while after the patient leaves, and the next unsuspecting person who goes into the room and inhales air may catch TB. Clostridium difficile (C. diff) disease is the least contagious because one has to ingest the bacteria to get colonized, and then only some colonized people get the disease.
