A member asked:

Good day, i'm experiencing boils that are reoccurring and takes time to heal. they are painful. i had a boil in the nose in july 2019 and it hasn't healed even now, even though it not painful anymore i still bleed from the sore. thanks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can recheck: The antibiotic-resistant bacteria called MRSA is usually checked for when a person has a boil. The doctor can swab the pus and send it to the lab. Certain antibiotics are used for MRSA boils, and other things have to be done to try to get that bacteria out of the household. Boils can still be due to regular, nonresistant bacteria... so hope it is nonresistant.
