After a suprapubic catheter has been removed how long does it take to stop leaking?

Suprapubic catheter: After removal, leaking of urine can occur for about 24 hours or a little longer. Usually the site is secured with sterile dressing and a bag is attached to the site of catheter to collect urine if there is any leakage. Follow up with your doctor closely.

My son has a suprapubic catheter in but instead of his urine draining into the bag, it leaking into his nappy. Everytime he passes urines through his penis it seems to cause him pain but then it goes away. Does this mean his catheter is blocked?
