Avoid sugar, starch: Avoiding sugars and starches can lower triglycerides. Losing weight helps. Since a person has to eat something, if she avoids sugars and starches, that means she will be eating more proteins. Also, avoid the bad fats in foods, but getting Omega-3 fatty acids is ok. Regular exercise lowers triglycerides too. One's doctor can make sure there is no hypothyroidism, prediabetes, or metabolic syndrome.
