A member asked:

Small bulge that comes and goes on right side of abdomen, near hernia location. when pressed, small "gurgle" or release of gas feeling, but no pain. it is more visible laying than standing, it's almost never there, just once in a while. hernia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dr. should evaluate: Abdominal weak spots are at the right and left groins. With abdominal pressure or older age, one becomes more likely to get a hernia. A hernia bulge pointing down into the scrotum (men) or labia majora (women) is called an "indirect hernia." A hernia may reverse (reduce) if one relaxes his tummy, while pressing the hernia with a hand. The gurgle feeling may be from intestine that is the hernia.
