A member asked:

So a tear duct becomes blocked or lacrimal duct becomes inflamed on one eye then can these lead to similar issues in the other eye?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not usually: The tear ducts are totally separate so a problem in one will not affect the other. However the underlying cause of a problem in one can cause a problem in the other. For example, age-related stenosis of the lacrimal duct can affect both eyes.
