BV? Trichomonas?: The two main causes of fishy vaginal odor are bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria; and trichomonas, an STD. Both usually also have increased vaginal discharge: white/gray with BV, yellow/brown for trich. Other infections also can do it, and both trich and BV are more common in women with other STDs, if at risk. Best to see a doctor and not try to treat yourself.
