A member asked:

My husband developed kawasaki syndrome as a kid and a couple cousins on his moms side as well as kids. we just had our daughter last november and it's always in the back of my mind wondering if she is going to develop it years from now.is it genetic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No Genetic Pattern: There is no way to predict who will get Kawasaki's syndrome. The best way to not miss the diagnosis is to know the warning signs; fever longer than 5 days, dry cracked lips, red eyes, red tongue, etc. I have included a link that should help. https://www.cdc.gov/kawasaki/index.html
