When should i start brushing my baby's teeth?

As soon as has teeth: As soon as he has teeth, it is important to clean them twice daily, although a toothbrush and toothpaste are not necessary initially. For infants, a thorough wiping of the teeth with a clean burp cloth or washcloth is all that is required.

Teeth= brush them: As soon as you see theeth, start to gently brush them, dont forget to gently cleanse the tongue as well. Try to cleanse at least twice per day, you will not need toothpaste.

When they come in: Begin to brush or wipe your baby's teeth twice daily as soon as they come in. Developing healthy dental habits early leads to a lifetime of healthy teeth. You can use either a soft baby toothbrush dipped in water or a cloth. When your baby shows an interest in brushing for them selves, give one brush to your baby and use another to brush his or her teeth.

When they appear: Once a tooth appears it should be brushed. You don't need to use toothpaste in your 6 month old, but just use a warm washcloth and rinse the tooth with water water. This helps keep both the tooth and gums surrounding it clean.

12 months: 12 months is a good age to start. Use a soft, toddler-type toothbrush and a teeny dab of toothpaste (mostly so the child will get used to the taste.) make toothbrushing part of a fun routine-- it's more important to establish a good habit than it is to actually get the teeth perfectly clean.

When over 10 teeth: Some people recommend trying to brush baby teeth sooner, some later. My recommendation is to start with a very soft, small brush, when the baby has more than 10 teeth, just to train the baby to accept toothbrushing. No toothpaste is needed at first. Later, use non-fluoride toothpaste until the child doesn't swallow toothpaste (when the child knows how to rinse and spit).

Immediately: As soon as a tooth erupts it has to be cleaned. For infants, probably best to wipe the tooth/teeth. Amer Dental Assn recommends al children see a Dentist (preferably a Pedodontist, a children's dental specialist) at eruption of 1st baby tooth, but NO LATER THAN 1st b'day. Dentist/Pedodontist can instruct you on proper technique, t'paste, fluoride, growth and development, etc.
