Should a 14 months old baby brush his teeth?

Parent must do it.: Good oral care starts day one. For infants, wiping all oral surfaces with a washcloth and water twice daily after feedings does the job. For toddlers, get a very soft small toothbrush and brush all oral surfaces gently. You don't have to use toothpaste, but if you want to use it, put only a tiny dot on the brush;we don't want him eating toothpaste!

Yes: You should start as soon as a baby has teeth. Sometimes doing it even before teeth appear helps the baby get used to the sensation early on, so that when you actually have to do it he will tolerate better.

Yes, and you, too: You need to brush your 14 month old's teeth because he doesn't have the eye-hand coordination to do it well. So make it a collaborative effort. Brush 1/4 of his mouth, then have him do it. Brush the next quarter, then have him do it. Etc. By the way, if your child has teeth he should be seeing dentist. Please make appointment now with pediatric dental specialist, .
