A 25-year-old male asked:
I have mild lactose intolerance, that results in feeling bloated when i eat cheese. i have more frequent bowel movements that are less solid when i eat cheese (can be 3 - 4 times a day). are lactase pills effective in mitigating lactose intolerance?

Maybe/not : There is a variable amount of lactose based on the type of cheese. Some like sharp cheddar have almost none. Lactase pills can replace the enzyme you don't make & reduce symptoms if that is the real issue. You must play with the dose to find the right amount. If your problem is not based on lactose it would not help at all.
