A member asked:

My baby is a week old and she is bottle fed (on s26 gold) but her stool is like little clay balls. the texture is also like clay. is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Balls are not normal: Newborn stools, after clearing out the sticky meconium stuff, are not balls. If balls, then the baby's pediatrician can examine both the stools and the baby. That means taking some good cellphone pictures of the stool balls to show the doctor. Newborn stools are watery or seedy or like sauce. They are any shade of yellow or green. They should not be whitish nor claylike. Breastfeed if possible.
