A 19-year-old female asked:

I have a small hard bump on the left side of the back of my skull about an inch from the bottom of the ear. it looks to be in the location of an occipital node but its not soft like a lymph node or very mobile. the gp said no tumour. skull base???

Watch and wait: You may feel the node/bump every couple of weeks, if the lymph gland doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor.
