Time to see a doctor: A teen or young man who feels palpitations should be checked by his primary care doctor (pediatrics, family medicine or internal medicine) to make sure his body is ok from a general check-up point of view, and to listen to his heart. It could just be that he is out of shape due to not enough regular exercise. But, it could also be that his heart is beating irregularly for another reason.
