Hard to speculate: The saliva of a dog may contain a variety of germs that they acquired from various locations. Whether or not they will cause an infection in the baby is unknowable, but should become evident within 72 hrs if not sooner. Why any 7 mo would be in the proximity of such a dog is confusing. I have had many young patients need plastic surgery to fix their dog bitten faces.
