A member asked:

In the absence of other complications such as diabetes and obesity, how long can one expect to live with compensated cirrhosis, if they stay healthy? thanks.

Yrs possible: With compensated cirrhosis there aren't any symptoms. The liver can still work well because there's enough healthy cells to make up for the damaged cells & scar tissue caused by cirrhosis. If this is treated properly it may be possible to stop or slow down liver damage. Therefore with a proper diagnosis of the cause & treatment it's possible to live for years. I wish you well with your health!
