Congratulations! : Losing 42lbs=phenomenal success! although fatty liver is the #1 cause of liver disease in america now, your chance of developing cirrhosis is significantly subsiding with wt loss. U are young and already taking the right step with good success. Wt loss will help fatty liver but it will take time. Avoid excessive alcohol. Live healthy, live well, live long! keep up the good work. Good luck.

Agree with Dr. N: To maximize the benefit of your weight loss, do not take alcohol and avoid drugs toxic to liver, such as acetaminophen. Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. For nutrition: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/.
