I have to buy snack for my childs class. on of the children are allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. i bought teddy bear cookies and while they don't have nuts in them, the label says theyre produced around peanuts is it safe to eat for the child?

Beware: The FDA requires warning labels on foods sold to the public. They are specific to require labeling that cites content of any of the 8 major food allergens. Most companies also warn when/if machines/spaces used during production were shared with such foods since even tiny amounts may have entered the product & may trigger a major reaction in some patients.
