A member asked:

When first introducing peanuts and tree nuts to an infant, should it be done in very small quantities at first to "test" how they react to it?

No nuts for infants: It is wisest to avoid giving nuts/peanut butter/etc. to children before the age of two. So, in answer to your question, for an infant you wouldn't want to introduce them at all.

New AAP Guideline: I think you may be referring to American Academy of Pediatrics new guideline? http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/136/3/600 This is for high risk infants and need to be under care of allergist. Otherwise, AAP recommends waiting until 12 months. Definitely ask your pediatrician at baby's next visit about this!
