Back to sleep!: We have decades of research showing that back sleeping is the safest position for your baby to sleep. Remove the wedges, they have not been proven safe and may well be harmful. A firm baby mattress with a sheet over it will suffice https://www.aap.org/en-us/about-the-aap/aap-press-room/Pages/American-Academy-of-Pediatrics-Announces-New-Safe-Sleep-Recommendations-to-Protect-Against-SIDS.aspx

On his back: Study data found that side sleeping is as dangerous as belly sleeping when cot death is considered, Wedges or sandbags are foreign items not needed or a benefit. Babies move in sleep naturally. I would put him down on his back & let him work out the issue. When/if he begins to roll after he reaches 4 mo or so it is okay to leave him be.
