Blighted ovum ?'s: Although a "blighted ovum" (or "miscarriage") is common with initial pregnancies, and may recur as a "chemical pregnancy" (positive pregnancy test with no tissue seen on pelvic ultrasound) less frequently. Other causes for unsuccessful pregnancies at age 24 are less common, but should be investigated if a third incidence occurs. A hysterosalpingogram (HSG) may then be indicated.
