Is it possible for a woman to have trichomoniasis for years? is it possible for it to have been given to her by a partner but it has gone away over the years in that partner before being detected?

Very typical: Both these things are common and typical. Trich in men usually causes no symptoms and are undetectable with most tests, and are cleared by the immune system more than in women. Still, he must be treated, and all women with trich need testing for other STDs, in case the infection was recently acquired. But if your partner seems to be truthful and trustworthy, take his word for it.

Trichomoniasis: Agree with Dr. Handsfield. Trichomoniasis may be silent in 70% of infected people. Symptoms may occur within 5 to 28 days or much longer out. Symptoms may be intermittent. People can go for very long periods without showing symptoms.
