12 mo. old baby has very red bellybutton. some brown crust has come out of it yesterday & today. baby cries / screams if i touch it or come near it. soaked it in warm tub, cleaned with qtip and alcohol wipe and put neosporin on. what could it be?

Wound/bite/other: This is a skin surface like most others. Some of these are insect bites that fester. Some are scratches from self play. There are some rare issues that occur only at that site. If it doesn't resolve in a few days doing what you have get it examined.
