Traveler's diarrhea: There is no obvious reason you should not take the treatment prescribed. But be aware that azithromycin has replaced the fluoroquinolones (including ciprofloxacin) for traveler's diarrhea, because of rising cases caused by FQ resistant bacteria, and because FQs have higher risk of side effects. Azithro also is only a single dose. For sure contact the doctor if you take cipro and it doesn't work.
