Drugs like codeine may interfere with breathing, as can dextromethorphan, which can change the infant’s behavior (as can Benadryl). Alternatives include warm fluids. As the cough has lasted 3 weeks, it’s worth getting in touch with your daughter’s pediatrician for additional guidance.
