As needed: Listen to your body. B vitamins are sometimes put in time release preparations and can be taken once a day with meals. Some people respond better to methyl folate (folic acid) or methyl cobalamine in a b complex. Vitamin c does not persist long. If you are experiencing an infection or allergy you can take vitamin c every hour if it is helpful. Vitamin c is best taken with bioflavanoids.
