Birth control pills: You can try advil, (ibuprofen) Motrin etc. You can also try birth control pills which can be prescribed without needing a pelvic exam.

Pain Treatment.: Unless there is a reason you can not take them, standard over the counter analgesics include anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen or naprosyn. They work best if taken on a regular schedule for the length of the short tem pain (a couple of days) versus sporadically.Tylenol (acetaminophen) can also be taken during this time as well. Otherwise this should be evaluated by an appropriately trained provider.
