Depression: Pms is probably a form of depression with hormonal triggers. People with mild depression often worsen prior to their periods. The depression is often associated with a lot of anxiety. Low dose antidepressants used regularly or sometimes for two weeks prior to period can help and avoid the need for hormones. Very mild cases exercise and low dose antianxiety med may help.

Exercise: Increased physical activity seems to help and if the problem continues or worsens, consult your doctor to see if you will benefit from premenstrual treatment of your symptoms.
