Can a neurotransmitter problem in the brain or a chemical imbalance cause insomnia? i have been to the doctor 5 times, i have tried things they told me to help my insomnia. it has been over 3 months and i cannot fall asleep and i keep waking up.

Possible: Excess of certain neurotransmitters can be an issue. Insomnia an have serious causes. Simple measures such as keeping room completely free of electronics can help.
