A member asked:

Is it okay to use (propranolol) with methylphenidate (ritalin) to counteract its unwanted effects such as rapid heart rate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I wouldn't: After a period of use your system usually becomes accustom to the Ritalin & side effects settle down. Propranolol has its own set of side effects during use which may require blood test monitoring. I would not add another med without close supervision, especially when time may make the perceived need vanish.
