Define location: Where the pain is coming from directs treatment. Inside the knee is cartilage, bone, synovium, to name few. It can be mechanical or it can be inflammatory. It could be referred from outside the knee like the hip, but the pain is felt in the knee. The location helps direct the treatment. It may be physical therapy, exercises, medications or even surgery.
