Teens heal well: Teens usually heal up well, due to typical good health. In such situations, one generally follows the suturing doctor's instructions on wound care and how to watch for infection. If healing is fine, one's primary care doctor can remove sutures in a week (sometimes a few days longer) and discuss the cause of the cut. If accidental, being careful helps. If intentional, a psychiatrist may be helpful.

Please seek help: What worries me most is that you are 17 and have a self inflicted wound on your wrist. It's not that I don't worry about the wound itself. But if your are having thoughts about hurting yourself then please seek help and/or call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255.

Be seen: You need to be seen by an MD. You said that it was self-inflicted so I would suggest not just a PCP or and ER physician see you to evaluate the healing of the cut, but that you be seen by psychiatrist to evaluate why you hurt yourself.
