A member asked:

Why does eating fresh cherries give people gas and a gurgly tummy, but those same cherries cooked in a cherry cobbler or pie don't cause any problems?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to be specific: Cooking does alter the protein of most foods, making them less likely to trigger intolerance or allergic response to their consumption. That said they are also surrounded by different fillers when presented in a pie.
