A member asked:

I visited a gp beginning of the month and he prescribed me with medication because my periods wouldn't stop but i have almost finished the meds and my periods still wont stop?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bleeding ?'s: Bleeding for a month should be evaluated by a gyn physician, and if pregnancy is possible, obtain a serum HCG test, which is very accurate for pregnancy. If positive, see a gyn physician immediately, as pregnancies outside the uterus (ectopic) can cause continued bleeding. Other causes might be fibroid tumors or intrauterine polyps.
