A member asked:

Started new bc on day 2 of cycle. no bleeding on day 5 and then light bleeding day 6. normal for new bc or something serious. have pcos. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PCOS ?'s: PCOS is accompanied by irregular or no ovulation. On any standard bcp's , the dose of hormones is very low, so being punctual is required to avoid breakthrough bleeding. Continue your active pills within the hour each day of having taken one the previous day. If the "ligh bleeding " continues, stop the bcp's, wait five days, then begin a new cycle, maintaining punctuality.
