Situational: This would depend on the type & behavior of dog/age of occupants. If vaccinated & there are no infants/toddlers/ immature children it is less risky than if there are. Animals are territorial & some more dangerous than others around children. An unexpected dog attack may happen at any time. I have referred many kids of various ages to plastic surgeons when the pet dog decided to bite a face/body.
