A member asked:

My doctor is great- except that his office rarely replies to electronic messages. getting a response is like pulling teeth. if i have a quick, simple question making an appt can be costly. what's the best way to handle an unresponsive office?

Communication: Some questions are readily answerable over the phone, site unseen. More often than not, however, a visual examination/x-rays/lab tests are required. For example, if you call to ask about a "bump" recently noticed, I can't answer without doing an examination. If you are having a communication problem with the office, carefully document and discuss with the doctor. if no satisfaction, go elsewhere.
