Yes, it can: due to hormone fluctuations, as well as blood sugar changes, caused by insulin resistance. Blood sugars can be normal on the upper range, but insulin over production to stimulate the resistant receptors can cause severe transient hypoglycemia, feeling terrible, but self correcting from the liver release of glycogen. This will cause blood sugar readings to normalize prior to testing in most cases.
