A member asked:

My doctor gave me aldomet 250mg thrice daily & lexotan 3mg because blood pressure was 150/100 at my last appointment is this safe? im 22 weeks gone

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Aldomet: Aldomet has long been considered a safe antihypertensive medication during pregnancy, especially after the first 12 weeks. Lexotan is a tranquilizer and I'm not sure whether your physician prescribed it for relief of anxiety or to help treat your high blood pressure. I can understand if you take it for anxiety treatment but not as a blood pressure medication. I recommend a cardiologist for care.
