Osteomyelitis? No.: I assume you are referring to osteomyelitis, which is infection of/in the bone. Yes this can occur after tooth extraction and is a very serious complication. Best you see your dental provider ASAP if you are concerned you may have developed this condition after a tooth extraction. Cavitation is hole in the bone after the tooth pulled that did not heal in with new bone, does not mean infected
