Line of demarcation: The Z line is the area where the lining cells of the esophagus stop and the lining cells of the stomach start. People with an irregular or "jagged" z line have a slightly increased risk of developing pre-cancerous changes along the z line. The fact that yours showed no inflammation is very reassuring.
