A member asked:

Which test produces clearer images of dvt? ultrasound or mri?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

DVT diagnosis : MRI has equivalent sensitivity and specificity to ultrasound for diagnosis of DVT, but has been evaluated in many fewer studies, using a variety of different techniques. Ultrasound is appreciated due to being lower cost, exposing patient to less radiation and having more evidence to use.
